Why does it say Designworks Collective outside the store?

Designworks Collective is our Umbrella Brand!

What To Expect

How long does a candle pouring last?

A custom candle pouring lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour!

What does the cost include?

The £35 cost for your class covers your entire candle pouring class, including the vessel and fragrance you choose!

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Definitely! We can provide glassware and there is a corking fee of £5 per 6-pack or bottle of prosecco/wine.

Can I bring food?

For health and safety reasons, we do not allow outside food in our public workshops.

Are reservations required or do you accept walk-ins?

While we highly encourage reservations, walk-ins are accepted if we have the space available! Check the availability at our Bath location here!

My preferred booking slot is not showing up?

Please email us at hello@designworkscollective.co.uk and we will try our best to accommodate you!

What if someone in my party doesn't want to pour a candle?

Each candle pouring reservation is for one person only. You're more than welcome to share the pouring process with a partner, but please note they may not have a seat if the pouring is full! In order to experience Paddywax Candle Bar in the best way possible, we recommend reserving a seat for each guest attending.

What is your retail return policy?

If you purchase something in our retail space, we accept returns on undamaged merchandise with proof of purchase up to 90 days after purchase.

What is the age requirement to pour a candle?

Because our candle pouring workshops include handling hot wax and fragrance oils, children must be 5 years or older to participate.  Anyone under 18 must have a legal guardian sign their waiver. A legal guardian does not have to be present, but they must have at least one chaperone.

Can I mix fragrances or bring my own vessel?

Our fragrances and vessels have to go through safety testing, so we can't allow you to mix fragrances or bring your own vessel. Don't worry, we have plenty of fragrances and vessels to choose from!

Can I take my candle home with me after pouring?

Our candles require three hours to set after pouring. Feel free to collect your candle anytime after this 3 hour window (during business hours) or alternatively we can ship your candle to you for £6 (within the U.K. only). We will hold your candle for 30 days, after that we will donate your creation to charity.

Will you hold my candle until I can pick it up?

Yes! We can hold your candle until you can pick it up, up to 30 days. After 30 days, we donate remaining candles to a local charity! If you can't pick it up within 30 days, we're happy to ship it to you for £6! Just contact us at hello@designworkscollective.co.uk.

Can I buy empty vessels from you?

We do not sell our vessels at this time.

My candle arrived broken, what should I do?

Oh no! We're more than happy to repour your candle and ship it again! Just contact us at hello@designworkscollective.co.uk and we'll take care of you.

If we have multiple people in our group, can we pay separately?

The best solution would be to pay with one form of payment in order to ensure your entire party is reserved.  If you would like to pay separately, you will need to book individually.

CANCELLATION POLICY

What is your cancellation policy?

We get it, sometimes life happens! If you request a cancellation at least 48 hours before the time of your pouring, we'll issue you a refund! Please email us at hello@designworkscollective.co.uk or call 01225 984826 to many any changes! No-shows will be charged.

CANDLE CARE

How do I keep my candle from tunneling?

1. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch each time before burning. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning.

2. Let the wax pool completely across each time you light it.

3. We recommend you don't burn longer than 4-5 hours at a time. This will prevent excessive heat build up.

4. Keep your candle within sight! Try not to move your candle unless the wax is completely dry.

How do I prepare my candle to repurpose or refill?

1. Stop burning your candle when there is still 1/4 inch of wax left.

2. Place your vessel in the freezer overnight or until frozen.

3. Remove candle from freezer and use a dull knife such as a butter knife to crack the wax.

4. Pop out wax pieces and remove wicks (you may need to continue to use the dull knife for this).

5. Wash your vessel with soap and water and you are ready to go!

Can I refill a candle from a past visit?

For any Paddywax vessel - YES! We love when people give their candles a second life. Just drop your empty and cleaned vessel off at our Bath location, and our team will repour it for you!
